went for the combined gb/bb recruit hike on sat.. (i'm.. of cos.. not a recruit.. went to "take care" of them..) it was raining early in the morning... and i was like.. how to hike with this kind of weather?? when i reached school at abt 07:20.. wondered whr the others were.. and they were... sum at the church, sum outside the staff room.. so scattered.. but owell, since evelyn at the staff room thr so i oso went thr lor.. and i walked to school, with an umbrella.. dun wanna take it along with me during the hike so went to put it into my locker.. and of cos, in a plastic bag la.. den after tt evelyn and i and the other gb gals outside the staff room went to the area outside the church.. and hehe... i saw...
so firstly.. we went to the canteen for a short briefing.. den they had to collect their equipment frm the logistics room.. which is actually the bb room la.. tent, compasses, map, first-aid kit, mass tins, tommy cooker and sum stationary tt they will need in the plotting process.. think tt's all the equipment we took la.. after tt went back to the church there and we.. the seniors.. checked the sec 1's bags to make sure they got every thing listed on their to-bring-list, and of cos, to make sure they got the correct stuff la... Den the equipment we took were split up between the squad so tt every one carries sumting each... the sec 2s a bit slack.. like me.. :P... nv carry anything. but i did help to carry the tent once when we were walking la cos they obviously had no energy left for carrying tt. den we "stole" their hand phones and wallets away frm them... hehe... sounds cruel huh?? no la.. we helped them keep it for safety purposes.. and oso juz in case they wanna cheat along the way or buy things along frm the shops tt we will pass by and so on.. BUT.. we.. the sec 2s still had ours.. wahaha!! they were.. obviously, jealous la... they were like... wad??!! this is not fair (hey.. we couldn't keep our own hp and wallets ourselves too last year k??).. but they shld understand why we did tt la.. cos cliff oredy explained to them. after tt carried the bags and all the other stuff to the canteen.. there we had, wad bb called, a water parade.. i oso dunno why it's called a water parade la.. but nvm.. hah.. we had to drink finish all the water in a 1.5 l water bottle... in case of dehydration... after all was done, of cos we had to refill it la.. as water cooler so slow, used tap water.. sum sec 1s showed a.. erm.. disgusted look.. wad for?? tap water is drinkable rite??
after all the water drinking and refilling of the bottles came all the fun and excitement. the MGR was given to us and we began to plot the check points and showed it to cliff.. at first one check point was out (and i think itz my fault it was out cos i was the one who plotted tt checkpoint to show them as an example of how to do it.. oops.. =X).. budden after we changed tt, we showed it to cliff again and it was.. wad i wanna say.. a job well done =P.. den we had to draw the route tt we wanna take to reach changi beach, the last checkpoint and had sum difficulty la.. but we were, still, fast in drawing out the route. left at 10 am, first to leave if i'm not wrong (hoped so much we will oso be the first to reach changi beach) our leader was.. jun xuan i tink.. not so sure cos he was a really really quiet person and i didn't really tok to him much. so nv ask wadz his name and so on.. i only tink itz jun xuan because heard sumone call him.. but still, not so sure la.. ok, i tink the sec 1 girls very bad.. haha... they gave him a nickname.. "boy guide".. well, it onli started at the later part of the journey when we were abt to reach.. elaborate more later on..
1st checkpoint, school..
2nd checkpoint.. the one which was out at first... sumwhr near bedok reservoir.. they didn't follow the planned route.. got lost at first... question was name of shop..
3rd checkpoint.. tampines cc... can't remember clearly if it was north or south... question was how much sum guy donated..
4th checkpoint.. sum company in loyang... question was to find the company name.. had trouble in this area too as there were so many companies there and we were like... huh??!!which one???
finally 5th checkpoint.. changi beach.. had trouble finding carpark 6... finally found and...
we were the first to reach... yep... ain't tt nice?? all the bb squads lost to a gb squad... GB SQUAD 1 RAWKS! k.. we had 2 bottles of coke.. each 1.5l.. tt was so cool!! PLUS.. we had the privilege of choosing the flavour of the instant noodles and wad canned food we wanted..";.. ok... so we took a grp foto... 2 to b exact.. and went on to pitch the tent.... yi lin asked, we no need to help them rite?? but... ok.. cliff is rite.. we were to soft on them... yep... i helped.. juz a little... but jun xuan was like.. treated them much nicer them how yi lin and i treated them... he helped them.. ok... so i guess the gals appreciated it... they gave him sum of the coke, for dinner later on tt day, they gave him a whole can of meat to himself, and later on for breakfast the next day, they gave him the leftover bread.. (well, tho it was onli like the leftover last piece.. and it might sound like they are throwing all the rubbish to him.. but no.. they really gave those to him as a form of appreciation..) ok.. in short, it was so sweet of them yar?? anywae, i think the tent was pitched really badly.. cos later on it.. er.. collapse twice.. when it rained... ok.. so while waiting for the rest of the grps to arrived, we played monkey... and yes we played while the bb guys were being disciplined on the other side... oops... gb gals were, again, so slack..
and yes... when it was time for field cooking, it rained... and as mentioned earlier on, the tent wasn't firm enuf to withstand the wind.. yupz, and it collapse twice... i looked out at the sea... it was... so nice... so romantic... wish there were onli 2 of us together... me and him.. hah... but stop day-dreaming mel... wake up... now itz gb an bb camp and not gf and bf time..
at last at abt 19:30... can eat our dinner... taught the same thing we learnt last year... abt solid fuel and stuff... yupz... and the bb guide given a packet of instant noodles... like i said earlier on... the sec 1s really nice.. let him hav the whole can of meant... so we ate plain noodles while he had extra ingredients.. den we had to clear the cooking area... which we did real badly and den we could bath... had been longing for tt... but the prob now.. i gotta pay for them... argh!!! but nvm la... $1.20... nvm.. anywae i 'owe' them a bottle of 100 plus.. :-P after the bath, they were free... slping time le... yep... didn't wanna slp... i looked out as usual.. couldn't see the sea this time... hear the waves crashing instead.. and.. the bb guyz were outside... if i'm not wrong, zhong ting was playing soccer with another guy whom i cannot really see clearly..
early in the morning on sunday.. suppose to wake up at 6 am.. i woke up at 5... hah... in fact i woke up 2 to 3 times.. at 1 plus, 3 plus and 5... not tt i can't slp... i wanted to stay awake, i wanted to look out of the tent.. but seems like too dark to really see anything like the sea.. and my eyes were sort of... tired out still... at abt 5:45, everyone in the tent had got up... and they were waiting so urgently to go out and wash up at 6.. when everyone went out at 6... itz all the disappointment they got cos lee yen jie haven wake up yet.. she onli woke up 15 min later and onli let us wash up at 6:20. we had to get back at 6:40.... wad?? 20 + pple given onli 20 min?? well maybe i thot tt way cos i can take a really long time in the toilet la.. haha.. after tt led my squad in 5bx.. had breakfast which was... considered.. quite nice.. hah... 1 whole loaf of bread minus 1 piece for 7 pple plus kaya... oh ya... again, tt 1 piece was given to jun xuan... well, tho it was the very last piece with the skin... den we strike the tents.. again i helped.. just a little.. a de-briefing by cliff, den combed the area of pegs or strings or poles etc etc lying ard... i found a peg and passed it to cliff... den we set off together back to school.. yep, both gb and bb... kent in front, den jun xuan and the gb sq1 gals and me behind them and den bb sq 1, gb sq 2, bb sq 2 and blah blah... last one gb sq 4.. half-way we stopped to take bus 9 back as we were, i tink, late la.. first bus were gb bb sq 1, and gb bb sq 2 plus of cos the bb leaders of the sq and kent.. alighted at tanah merah.. 5 min after 2nd bus 9 came and the rest of gb and bb alighted.. did head count and we walked back to school.. there we fen gong he zuo in cleaning of the stuff... bb did the tent... fly sheet and grd sheet.. gb.. strings poles pegs erm... wad else? ok these kinda stuff... and they were oredy complaining!! abt the knots on the strings.. ok.. they were DEAD knots yea?? audrey and the rest were like saying.. "they purposely tied the knots to make things difficult for us and so on so forth".. and cliff was like... -_-"?? but since cliff could untie them y can't we?? argh.. hahz.. after tt lee yen jie toked to all of us and the sec 1s were dismissed... den we sec 2s had to "report" to her how the sec 1s were and so on and after tt dismissed lor...
anywae, think bb very ke lian.. cos their seniors all ard, slightest mistakes they make, pumping position.. and they had to pitch and strike their tents a lot of times.. abt 5 or 6 times after field cooking/dinner time.. b4 we leave oso muz strike and pitch and strike it again..
